  • Location Data: GPS coordinates, IP-based location, or any geolocation information
  • Body Sensor Readings: Data from motion sensors, accelerometers, or health-tracking devices

  • Messages, Emails, and Communications: Your private messages, emails, or communication history
  • Photos and Videos: Camera roll contents, screenshots, or any visual media
  • Browsing History: Your web history, bookmarks, or internet activity

We request zero permissions that relate to personal data. Mintin5 functions completely without accessing your contacts, photos, location, calendar, or health data.

Mintin5 collects minimal information to function effectively and help us improve the app. All collected information is stored locally on your device:

  • Stock Searches and Watchlists: The stock symbols you search for and add to your watchlist are stored locally on your device
  • Application Settings: Your preferences, layout choices, and configuration within the app
  • Usage and Performance Metrics: Anonymized data about how often you use features, app crashes, or performance issues (for improvement purposes)
  • Crash Logs: Technical information about app crashes to help us fix bugs and improve stability

Local-First Architecture: All collected information is stored locally on your device. Nothing is transmitted to our servers or external services without your explicit action (such as fetching real-time stock data).

We use the limited information collected for specific purposes:

  • Providing Real-Time Stock Information: When you search for a stock symbol, we fetch current market data from stock data providers
  • Maintaining Your Watchlists: Your personalized watchlists are maintained on your device for convenient access
  • Enhancing App Performance: We analyze anonymized usage patterns to optimize features and improve user experience
  • Resolving Technical Issues: Crash logs help our development team identify and fix bugs quickly

Data security

We implement multiple layers of security to protect your information:

  • Local Storage: All information is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure iOS frameworks and CoreData encryption
  • HTTPS Encryption: All communications between Mintin5 and third-party stock data providers use HTTPS and TLS encryption
  • No External Transfers: Your personal data is never transmitted to external servers or cloud services
  • No Third-Party Sharing: We never sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for marketing or any other purpose

You control your data. Your watchlists, searches, and preferences are entirely within your control. You can delete all stored data at any time by clearing the app's local storage.

Third-party services

Mintin5 integrates with limited third-party services to provide core functionality:

  • Stock Market Data Providers: To display real-time stock prices and financial data. These providers receive only the stock symbol you are searching for, not any personal information
  • Apple Analytics Tools: We use Apple's native analytics (part of the iOS App Store) to understand app usage patterns in an anonymized, privacy-respecting way

Minimal data is transmitted to third-party services. Stock price requests contain only the symbol you search for, and Apple's analytics are anonymized and aggregated.

Your rights

You have complete control over your data in Mintin5:

  • Access Your Data: All your data is accessible within the app. Your watchlists and settings are visible to you at any time
  • Request Deletion: Contact us at 5minutemint@gmail.com to request deletion of any specific data or a complete data account reset
  • Opt Out of Analytics: You can disable analytics tracking through iOS Settings, Privacy, Analytics, or contact us for app-specific options
  • Clear Local Storage: Delete all app data directly from iOS Settings, General, iPhone Storage, Mintin5, Offload or Delete App

Compliance and regulations

Mintin5 complies with major data protection regulations worldwide:

  • GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation): If you are in the EU, your data is protected under GDPR. We minimize data collection and provide data access and deletion rights
  • CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act): If you are in California, you have the right to know, delete, and opt-out of data sales (which we do not do)
  • App Store Guidelines: Mintin5 complies with Apple App Store privacy requirements and submission guidelines
  • Digital Services Act (DSA): Mintin5 follows transparency and user protection requirements under the EU Digital Services Act
